We have all read the articles on what a gentleman should have in his wardrobe.
They suggest; a navy suit, grey suit, white shirt, blue shirt, black shoe, brown shoe, a classic pair of denim jeans and so on. The question is; Does this fit into my lifestyle?
Here at Tolley Savile Row, we cater to the individual and their needs. What do you do for a job? Do you travel? Do you overheat easily? Are you more conservative or do you like to have a little fun with your outfits?
All these questions come into play when choosing the right fabric for your next suit.
Made to measure and bespoke allows you the client to choose, the way we help is to steer you in the direction you want to go, in three simple steps.
Firstly, what colours suit your complexion and wardrobe?
We use colour as a base when building your suit design; this will determine the formality of the final product. As a small rule, the darker the shade, the more formal, think how formal black looks like as a suit or shoe.
From there we can talk about subtle patterns for someone looking to venture away from solid colours for the first time, or maybe you want to stay with solid colours but want something with a bit more character through textures?
To finalise the fabric choice, we look into where and how you are going to wear the garment. Will it be a winter suit? Let's go for a luxury flannel or heavy wool. Summer for work? We will suggest a light wool fresco or wool/mohair blend to keep you sharp and fresh at the same time. The other option would be, an all-year-round fabric, like a medium weight high twist wool.
